Visitor Visa

A visitor is a temporary resident who has been authorized to enter and remain in Canada as a visitor. A visitor is normally authorized to stay for 6 months with a stamp in his/her passport. A visitor cannot work or study unless he/she has obtained a work permit or a study permit or is exempt from a work permit or a study permit. A visitor who stays in Canada shorter or longer than 6 months without working or studying may be given a Visitor Record at the point of entry.
